26th July every year is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay homage and respect to the sacrifices and bravery of the courageous soldiers who defended our homeland in the Kargil War of 1999. Army Public School Golconda organised a marathon run in which the students participated enthusiastically spreading the message of unity and patriotism among the students in the school campus. A guest lecture by Kargil War veteran, Col A S Mukherjee from Artillery Centre Golconda was organised by the school to spread among the students awareness and the hardships of war. The students were enlightened by the experiences shared and the feeling of patriotism and love for their motherland ran high among all.
This made the students realise the importance of knowing our history and remembering the sacrifices of the bravehearts who lost their lives for the nation.
